About MNF

Mission Statement:   Mach None Flying is a magazine for those who fly, or who want to fly all forms of affordable aircraft, from Powered Parachutes and Powered Paragliders, to Ultralights, Rotorcraft, Trikes and Homebuilt Aircraft. Through news and reviews, insights from flyers or manufacturers, and articles on skills, technique, and care of these aircraft, with a particular emphasis on wheeled craft, Mach None Flying inspires, informs, offers connections among, and solves problems for those interested in these craft. The focus will be on affordable and safe flying, but articles on all kinds of craft will be offered if the subject may be of some interest or assitance to those who fly or want to fly for hobby purposes.   Skill levels of our readers may range from those seeking information for the first time to those who have been involved with in the hobby for many years. Whether flight teachers, manufacturers, students, or those watching from the sidelines, our readers all share an interest in these unique aircraft. Mach None Flying will strive to be their most valued source of information on this fascinating hobby.

MachNoneFlying.com, UlralightTime.com, and PPCTimes are independently operated by Bryan Lowe, Seattle, Washington.

We gladly accept articles for publication pending approval. Payment will be in the form of a thank you.  We will be glad to provide links to your business website within the stories you submit.

All articles are offered for informational purposes only, every one requiring more information before flying decisions are made.   We do not claim expertise in any subject matter, instead serving as reporters gathering information for your entertainment and to act as the starting point for your search to learn all you need to know in order to be a pilot.  Do not rely SOLELY upon the information presented here.  Consider all of it the opinions of these writers, opinions that may well conflict with the opinions of others involved in this hobby.  There is a chance the articles here are “wrong” or include a mistake.  Take responsibility for your safety by gathering information from all resources available before you participate in any aspect of this hobby.   This is not simply legal talk to protect ourselves, though we do want to make clear that the decision to fly is yours, and yours alone.   The biggest reason for this information is you need to know it in order to be safe.   Do not fly without lessons.   Your instructor knows you and your situation and is the final authority on all aspects of your participation in this hobby.  Share the information you learn here with your instructor.  If there is ever any difference of opinion between this online magazine and your instructor, go with your instructor.   He/She knows best.

Links to a site do not represent an endorsement of the site or the information continued in the site.    We are unable to confirm the claims made on external websites, or by guest authors on this site.    We are unable to check out each site for compliance with laws or standard practice.    We don’t have the time, or, honestly speaking, the expertise.

One of the guiding principles of the people here is that there are amazingly few truths, and many opinions.  We share ours, and invite all to share theirs.  The information provided here must be applied to your own unique situation.

We are counting on readers to let us know when we get something “wrong” in any of our stories. We are reporters, sharing information on a subject we love, as we research the stories we run.. and as we, too, learn more about this hobby. We always strive to get it right, but hope that when we don’t, someone will let us know, or perhaps more accurately, give us their opinion of why it is wrong.

Note: If you feel we have used your written matierial inappropriately, alert us and we will remove it instantly. Our purpose is to provide a sample of the story and then link to the original source.
